Vintage Kiss Mihály Korond Folk Pottery Vase — Transylvania

A hand-painted folk pottery vase from Korond, Transylvania, signed Kiss Mihály to the base.

Worked in warm ivory, deep crimson and black, the decoration moves around the vase in bold stylised floral forms. Small variations in the brushwork and glaze give the piece the character of something unmistakably made by hand.

The vase has a strong sculptural presence on its own, or can be used simply with a few branches or flowers.
